Attention to water quality and re-use is increasing as clean water supplies decline. Even Albertans can no longer take their historic supply of abundant clean water for granted. As the trend toward water re-use grows, water treatment standards tighten. Membrane filtration is acknowledged as a particularly effective process to attain high levels of water purity. This treatment method will be more important as resource limitations lead to more water re-use and more stringent regulatory requirements. The Membrane Treatment for Wastewater course is an opportunity for operators to increase their understanding of membrane filtration equipment and processes as applied to wastewater treatment. Topics covered include membrane types and functions, filtration system components and operational processes, dealing with common operational and equipment issues, and implications of membrane technology for the wastewater sector. A tour of the filtration system at EPCOR’s Gold Bar site will provide attendees with an opportunity to see a tertiary membrane system in operation. For further details, please contact us at
