The Centre’s mix of facilities, real-time access to waste streams, and close linkages to researchers allows for a holistic approach to research. Opportunities for R&D cover a wide scope of waste management activities—from waste to energy systems to industrial process and effluent monitoring.
The mandate of the Research Program is to foster and promote research to achieve environmental, technological, economic, and societal benefits in the field of waste management. Our vision is to build an internationallyrecognized waste management Research Program.
Facilities Facilities at both the Solid Waste Research & Development Facility, the Wastewater Research and Training Centre, and The Advanced Energy Research Facility. These have been designed specifically for scale-up of novel technologies from bench- to pilot-scale using process streams from actual, full-scale operations.
Expertise This enables the Centre to identify and assemble powerful teams to address research needs and problems across the whole spectrum of waste management. Assistance is available in problem definition, preparation of grant applications, project management and report preparation. Members from these organizations serve on the Research Advisory Committee. For examples, please refer to our Research Projects section.
